DIVISION OF COORDINATOR FOR ANIMAL EXPERIMENTATION

This Division was established in 2008 under the IACUC covered with 3 Institutes at Okazaki.

The important role of animal-based research in the life science, especially physiological science field has been extensively increasing in the world. However, animal welfare and ethical problems are rising in the field.

This Division has three main missions as follows.

  1. To educate and train researchers whom belong to 3 OKazaki Institutes concerning to 'Law for the humane treatment and management of animals','Standards relating to the Care and Management of laboratory animals and relief of pain','Fundamental guidelines for proper conduct of animal experiment and related activities in academic research institutions under the jurisdiction of MECSST' Band domestic Standard.
  2. To prepare a report of self-evaluation.
  3. To disclose the data for animal-based research among 3 Institutes.
