I hope this mail of mine finds you and your staff in good health.

I was deeply saddened by the news of the dire consequences of the earthquake that struck Japan.

In so dramatic a moment, I wish to convey, on behalf of myself and of all the professors, the
administrative staff and the students of our University, the deepest sympathy and expressions of human solidarity to you and to the victims.

We are close to you in this tragic circumstance and ready to give all possible assistance and aid to your University. Do not hesitate to tell us your possible needs for any students or teachers.

I'm sure that Japan will recover once again with the selflessness and courage that characterize its
extraordinary people and the relations between our Universites will continue and improve.
