Title | Mechanism of mRNA decay and regulation of gene expression |
Contents | This talk will be given in Japanese. mRNA decay plays a pivotal role in gene expression. Shortening of the 3'poly(A) tail, called deadenylation, is the first and the late-limiting step in the decay of general mRNA. We have previously shown that translation termination acts as a trigger of mRNA decay and proposed a model for the translation termination-coupled mRNA decay: after translation termination, the termination factor eRF3 dissociates from mRNA, which triggers recruitment of the deadenylases, Pan2-Pan3 and Caf1-Ccr4, to initiate mRNA decay. In this seminar, I will talk about novel regulatory mechanisms of gene expression, which target deadenylatio. |
