Postdoctoral fellow positions available for research on stem cells for neurodegenerative disease modeling and therapeutics

Two post-doctoral fellowships are available in the Taub Institute for the Aging Brain and the Dept. of Cell Biology and Pathology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated scientists who will work in top-quality, high-pressure academic environment. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to an active and innovative research program focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms of mammalian neuron development and survival. Our ongoing research activity is to characterize key regulatory signals that guide physiological as well as pathological processes such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. The successful candidates will have experience with general molecular biology, stem cell or developmental biology, neuroscience, or rodent models. Experience with ES/iPS cells, primary cultures of mammalian neural cells, and bioinformatics/gene expression profiling a plus. Positions are available immediately.
