Grant-in-aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas, "Face perception and recognition: Multidisciplinary approaching to understanding face processing mechanisms" On behalf of the official research project, a Grant-in-aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas, "Face perception and recognition: Multidisciplinary approaching to understanding face processing mechanisms", supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan, it is my great pleasure to introduce our activities to you. This research project started in 2008 and will finish at the end of March 2013. This project involves thirty-nine researchers whose research fields are really multidisciplinary. Therefore, researchers are classified into the following six groups: A1 group: Hemodynamic study, mainly fMRI and NIRSA2 group: Electrophysiological study, mainly EEG and MEG A3 group: Clinical study, mainly focusing on autism A4 group: Psychological study A5 group: Behavioral and electrophysiological study using monkeys A6 group: Technological and physical group The MEXT, Japan, is strongly supporting this project, and the total budget is approximately 10,000,000 USD. In fact, I think that this is the first and only research project focusing on face perception and recognition through multidisciplinary methods in the world. Since 2012 is the last year of this project, it is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the International Symposium, "Face perception and recognition", which will take place in Okazaki, Japan from October 30 to November 3, 2012. This symposium will also be held as the International Conference of NIPS (National Institute for Physiological Sciences, Okazaki, Japan). This research project started in 2008 and will finish at the end of March 2013. Project Leader, Copyright (C) 2008 kaoninchi. All Rights Reserved. |
