池中 一裕 教授

ikenaka

大阪大学理学部化学科を卒業後、そのまま有機科学専攻の修士課程に進学。学部4年生から修士課程は天然物有機科学講座(当時芝哲夫先生が教授)に在籍し(1974-77)、免疫アジュバント活性を有するムラミルペプチド類の合成に従事。博士課程からは生化学専攻に移り大阪大学蛋白質研究所蛋白質機能制御部門(当時藤井節郎先生が教授)に在籍。助手になって米国留学まで(1977-83)癌におけるピリミジン代謝と制癌実験に従事。State University of New York at Stony Brookに留学中は井上正順先生に師事し、大腸菌における膜蛋白質遺伝子発現制御機構に関して研究(1983-85)。蛋白質研究所に助手として戻るが、部門の教授が御子柴克彦先生に替わられたことを契機に神経発生の研究を開始。 1991年に同部門で助教授、1992年に生理学研究所教授に就任し現在に至る。

有機科学に従事したのは僅か3年だが、基本的に絶えず分子構造を思い浮かべながら研究している。研究テーマを変えることは研究の幅を広げる上で極めて好ましいと考えているので、他領域から移る人を積極的に受け入れる。

趣味はテニスとスキー、それから外国語学習。最も関心のあることはおいしい酒でおいしい料理を食べること。外国旅行に出かけても観光には関心がなく、その夜どこで何を食べるかばかり調べている。どんなローカルなレストランに行っても注文に困らないように語学学習をしている。
