生理学研究所研究会のより一層の国際化と充実を図るため，2008年度から海外の研究者を数名招聘して，英語による研究集会，「国際研究集会（NIPS International Workshop）」を新たに開始しました。2014年度には「A quarter century after the direct and indirect pathways model of the basal ganglia and beyond」および「Conference on Neural Oscillation」の2件を採択し，活発な議論とともに国内外研究者の密な交流の場を提供しました。2015年も1件の開催が予定されています。
