Modern day clinical scanners operating at 3T and 7T have the potential to translate the results from group studies to practical application in single subjects. This is particularly true in neuroimaging. I will review some potential applications from 3T and 7T. I will show how fMRI and DTI can be used to identify developmental deficits in neonatal populations that have suffered perinatal trauma as well as how DTI and resting state fMRI can be used to predict recovery in cerebral palsy. In other examples, I will demonstrate how patient diagnosis in epilepsy and multiple sclerosis could be altered through the use of 7T. |
