From Brownian motion to brain connective network: An introduction for diffusion MRI from a technical perspective

要旨

The complex structural organization of the white matter bundles in a living human brain can be depicted in great details with state-of-the-art diffusion MRI technique, presently the only neuroimaging modality capable of non-invasively mapping neuroanatomical architectures and structural connectivity at a macroscopic scale.
Furthermore, with the recent development of graph theoretical analysis, the topology of brain structural network can be measured and delineated in a quantitative manner. In this talk, I will introduce the theoretical background, technical consideration and computational analysis of diffusion MRI. Applications in neuroscience and clinical diagnosis will be also introduced.
