要旨 |
Technological innovation in acquiring large scale electron microscopy volumes, combined with advances in machine learning and distributed proofreading infrastructure now enable reconstructions on the order of one millimeter cube, sufficient to capture the entire dendritic field and the local axon of neurons in mouse cortex. Here I’ll describe some of the results of applying this technology to map cell-type specific connectivity patterns in mouse visual cortex, including discovering new cell-types with novel patterns of connectivity, principles of alignment between diverse cell classes, and attempts to relate these patterns to known diversity of molecularly defined types. These data are all publicly available at www.microns-explorer.org and I’ll give an overview of how you can access these data and resources to explore your own research questions using this open dataset.
